Dr. Andrews offers minimally invasive techniques to allow a quicker and less painful recovery. Many joint replacements can even be done as outpatient procedures, allowing the patients to go home the same day.     Dr. Kenneth Ham is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand, upper extremity and microvascular surgery. He has been practicing in Northwest Indiana for over twenty years. Dr. Ham is dedicated to serving his patients by providing them with the best options available today. He has extensive experience in diverse areas of orthopedic surgery including general orthopedics, joint replacements, minimally invasive surgery, upper and lower extremity surgery and sports medicine. He also performs independent medical examinations and treats workers’ compensation patients.

  • Dr. James Hong

    Podiatrist

    Dr. James Hong, a native of Merrillville, brings extensive foot and ankle surgical expertise to Bone & Joint Specialists. During his medical training he received the Scholl College Distinguished Scholar Award as well as many other honor society awards. He is Board Certified in Foot and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. He actively trains and supervises residents at the Franciscan St. Margaret/Midwestern University Residency program. Dr. Hong enjoys all aspects of treating foot and ankle conditions, with particular interest in trauma, reconstructive surgery, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He utilizes surgery as a last resort when all other conservative measures have failed. He believes strongly in taking time to develop an individualized treatment approach tailored to each patient’s personal life circumstances and goals. His secondary languages include Spanish and Chinese. Outside of work, Dr. Hong enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling, golfing, and being with family and friends.

    Dr. Zeshan Hyder graduated Cum Laude from the University of Illinois and throughout his medical education has published articles on various subjects related to arthroplasty and spinal surgery. During his fellowship and residency programs he gained valuable expertise in sports medicine, orthopedics and trauma as well as conservative and surgical management of all orthopedic spinal disorders.

  • Dr. Michael Knesek

    Orthopedic Surgeon

    Dr. Michael Knesek graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame. Throughout his undergraduate and graduate education, he regularly achieved Honors. He also attended medical mission trips to Honduras and Puerto Rico. He has published articles and chapters on complex hip and shoulder disorders in numerous orthopedic journals and textbooks including the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM) and The Journal of Orthopedic Research. During his fellowship and residency programs, he gained valuable experience in Sports Medicine and assisted in athletic team medical coverage at the professional level, college level, and high school level, including the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, University of Michigan basketball and hockey, and Northwestern football. Dr. Knesek regularly participates in teaching and lecturing Orthopaedic residents and practicing surgeons on arthroscopic procedures and shoulder replacement/reconstruction procedures at the AAOS learning center in Chicago.
